Two Sisters Giveaway

Month one is done on our quest to see a movie a week. We've been having a great time going to all these movies. And it gives us purpose to review them here on Two Sisters. We hope you've been enjoying the average person's take.

But we figure if you want to have a legitimate blog you have to have giveaways right? So I guess that's what we'll do. We decided for our first (and hopefully not last) giveaway to give one of our lucky readers a movie gift basket. It will be filled with candy, popcorn and a $10 gift card to Blockbusters. Nothing major but something fun to start us off.

To enter this giveaway all you have to do is comment on this post. Say whatever you want. You could tell us what your favorite movie of all time is, what the worst movie you ever saw was or what's the most times you've seen the same movie in the theater. (You don't want to know how many times I saw Titanic in the movie theater. Really, you don't. It's embarrassing.) Whatever it is, just shout it out.

Only one comment per person please. But, if you're a follower you can post another comment letting us know and you'll get a second entry in the giveaway.

So comment away. We'll pick the winner after our next review so stay tuned!

  2. Hi,

I am a faithful follower, even though I seldom see movies. I did tell Andrew and Emily about the King's speech review and they went and loved it too. I loved my first ever movie on the big screen, "Hello Dolly" when I was in 2nd grade. Dad and I flew from Cordova to Anchorage for me to get new glasses and we went to the movie!

Glad you sisters are doing this!

  5. I went to Ever After about at least five times in the theater so it might qualify as my favorite but I really love the A&E version of Pride and Prejudice. Colin Firth is fabulous.
    Your reviews are great.

  6. I would have to say it's a toss up between Rudy and The Shawshank Redemption for my all time favorite movie.

My least favorite is anything with Steven Seagal in it.

My favorite movie of 2010 was Secretariat :)

  7. I, too, love looking at Ashton Kutcher. What a great blog, I love reading it!

On a Titanic note: Doug spent a Summer in Africa with World Service Corps and his partner (from Kenya) kept asking to watch "Titantic II". When Doug asked him what the "II" part was all about he said, "The sequel is so much better than the first one"...then he pulled out the second VHS tape from the movie box. I enjoyed both Titanics, part I and part II. :-)

  11. I really like your movie review blog posts and the commitment you have made to it. Keep up the great work! The most influential movies on me growing up were: Gone With the Wind, Dr.Zhivago, and Sound of Music, which is interesting as I look back now because they all had a war theme. My favorite movies that I never tire of are: My Cousin Vinny, Rainman, Forrest Gump, Field of Dreams, Groundhog Day, Dirty Harry, Grease, Tora Tora Tora, Planet of the Apes, Star Wars, True Grit, Shawshank Redemption, Mama Mia, and Live and Let Die. I must be old and winded...

  12. I'm a sucker for sports movies. Hoosiers is one of my all time favorites. When I hear, "I can see clearly now the rain is gone..." by Jimmy Cliff I think of Cool Runnings.

  15. I am really enjoying your blog and am so happy for you that you started it. I can't pick just one favorite movie as there are too many good movies. But I do have a few that I never tire of watching: Out of Africa, Fried Green Tomatoes, Dances With Wolves (you should watch it Deb, it's really good!), Sabrina (either version)and The Shawshank Redepmtion.

  16. OOOH, The first movie I ever saw is still one of my favorites . . . Fiddler on the Roof! On a big screen (at least 4 times as large as the typical multiplex screen today) in Monroe Michigan. I still remember my sister and I joking that the title was "Piddler on the Roof" My favorite scene is the tavern dancing with the Jews and the Russian's TO LIFE! TO LIFE, L'CHIAM. I have a life long dream to play Tevye on stage sometime.

  17. I don't know about my very first movie, but I do remember my very first PG movie...Every Which Way but Loose with Clint Eastwood. Thanks mom and dad for taking me to that cool movie that had a cute little monkey in it. Who knew I would learn how to flip people off from a monkey? And who knew I would learn a new word "piss", and then add it to my playground vocabulary? No, I don't remember my very first movie, or even very much about my first PG movie, but I do remember what Dial soap tastes like. Good times.
